Efficient how? As spriting is not any more or less time consuming as anything else in game development. If you take the RPG Maker comes with a boat load of premade sprites for you to edit and there is a lot of resources you could draw from online. If your worry is efficiency then stop worry about efficiency as game development wastes extraordinary amounts of time.
Which update are you playing? If you're playing update 5 it's normal for that to happen since that's where the content ends, but if you're playing update 6 it's weird because once that quest ends, it should automatically send you to the next scene.
Sorry for getting back to your so late!
I fixed the issue for it turning pink. However, I'm a bit stuck when it comes to your issue with the save file, for some reason, while the quest objective tells you to go to the tavern, your save file shows as if you had actually progressed further in the game. While it shows you need to complete objective 16, you're supposed to be already past objective 18, and I can't figure out why.
Do you mind if I ask a few questions:
1) Did you use a pre-existing save to play?
2) Did you use anything "special" to play the game, like an android emulator or anything?
3) Did you visit the reminiscence room and replay a scene with Rose before the bug?
4) You never talked with Lily in the tavern before on Soldath morning during the same quest, right?

Thanks for letting me know. I'll dig deeper into this so I can find the cause. About number 3, it's fine if you don't know anymore, but do you remember seeing a scene you hadn't seen before in the reminiscence room, maybe between the Duke and Rose in the Duke's room?
As for your issue, I'm afraid there is no way to fix this but load an earlier save, maybe use one of the saves provided? Although it'll take you back before the ball. Sorry about this : (

I got curious about that bugged out save file so i tried recreating it (it was an unsuccesfully attempt if anyone's wondering), on the bright side however, i made a save file that's exacly where yours is if you need it.

Wow I must say I like this game way more than the first two. I think a big part of that is the better visual representation with the character portraits. I like how the NTR seems less uh, rapey than it did in previous games. Nothing wrong with some party members with more willingness to consent, and dare I say it, a slightly sluttier side before they’re corrupted. I also like that it is built with MC’s POV rather than only omniscient POV in mind.
I do have some things I would change about the game. The character portraits are so good and add a lot imo, so I would show them more often. Bonus points if it shows the full one with the character’s correct outfit whenever they’re speaking. I would also make the intro less of a slog, and add some more “lewd breadcrumbs” to keep the player’s attention throughout it.
And personally, I would love a party member who’s a little slutty from the beginning, but lets it out as the game goes. I really like the ponytail blonde side character for this.

Less rapey than previous games? I wouldn't call the NTR in HC2 particularly rapey outside of the high elf character. Well, not any more than it is in HC3 for the most part. I feel like the difference here is that the motivations for it are better. With Rose you've got a princess who just wants to protect her people, do right by her parents, and fulfill her obligations as sovereign. She's clearly being taken advantage of by the Duke, but when it all comes to a head and Leto confronts her she won't be able to deny that she was a willing participant from day one even if it wasn't something she wanted to do at first. With Cyanna she's motivated by guilt, self loathing, and to an extent jealousy of Rose and Leto's relationship. She's not as willing a participant as Rose, but she's got way more wrapped up in all of this emotionally than previous HC heroines. With Lily it's desperation to see her family and classism that are involved in her story, which is makes her a lot more sympathetic, it also makes her positioning as the seeming BDSM themed character a little ironic. The only one where it feels fairly bog standard is Haylen, but that's not necessarily a problem since a chaste nun falling victim to the passions of a good dicking is a classic.
You got it summarized pretty well. I just want to add that besides all you've mentioned for Cyanna, she's also doing this to protect Leto, or at least make sure Ulrod protects him.
As for Haylen, her deeper motivations are yet to be revealed. There's been one flashback at some point that could work as a hint, but that's all for now. Let's just sy she might be projecting a little.
Never been a fan of Diablo-like games. I've tried a few, but they always feel too repetitive, with too little story. I know that's exactly what they're supposed to be, but it's just not my jam. I've been playing a lot of Age of Wonders 4 recently though, but I always make sure to stop before my daily scheduled development sessions^^

I thought the whole point of the flashbacks and her ruminations were to point out she's lusted after Leto when he was younger? Isn't that the kind of takeaway we're supposed to get from all four girls? Which leads me to ask how a "good ending" works in this kind of game, do we end up happy with Rose or can we fulfill all four of them somehow in that route.
There's part of that, but also more.
As for your question about the good ending, the fact that I made sure Haylen wasn't blood-related to Leto for... "reasons" should partially answer it; )
