Hilton is credited with the iconic intro to "The House of the Rising Sun."
He has influenced the sound of rock 'n' roll for decades to come and without him, we wouldn't get Leo's great cover of The House of the Rising Sun.
Rest in Peace, 1943 - 2021.

Leo's artistry is always phenomenal. Sometimes, though, there's songs that aren't interesting or just don't work as well in his style. And they're interesting and fun, but I won't watch them a ton.

This has got to be the best one. The smoothness of the rhythmic and style transitions and the "wholeness" and artistic arrangement are nothing short of genius!

Same! I love most of his covers that I can keep on repeat, but this one is one particular one I keep coming back to. I think it's just the constant melodic drive it has (until the last part), it just works so, so well. The breakdown, solo, and even half-tempo outro all go so well together. Always think this as being what the original should've been if it had been written by Leo. By far one of my favourites all-time of his.

There's a local Sydney band who call themselves Cobra Kai and the Legsweeps, they do a similar thing to Leo, except instead of metal, they're more punk, have a very Offspring sound to them.
They do a brilliant punked up cover of the Land Downunder (which can be found here in RUclips), plus a number of others you wouldn't expect. Went n seen them live about a month ago, I didn't know I needed a punked up version of Elton John's Rocketman in my life til I heard them do it.
This is probably one of your best metal cover, at least top 3.

Tbf, we've never actually heard the original. Its an old french folk song. Then it camethe the US in english. It was public domain so the animals did a cover of it. This is obviously inspired by that cover though.

@@TiKallisti I am curious to your explanation on how Disturbed failed covering that song? It seems general consensus was positive and granted, that is not a proper metric to base a judgement off of (look at current pop culture drivel like Bieber, etc.) but it seemed to encompass the tone and tempo of S&Gs original version and they just added their spin to it. I compare it to Metallica's version of "Turn the Page".
I think what he meant was they didn't do a metal cover like they did with Shout and Land of Confusion. And I agree, a metal cover would be awesome (by either Leo or Disturbed).
But I will say this, Disturbed did an amazing job of The Sound of Silence. It might not have been metal, but it was powerful and epic.

No midnight sun down here I'm afraid, only waaay up north.
Here the sun goes down at about 11pm and comes back up 4.30am.
It never gets really dark tho, you don't need artificial lights to drive etc...

@@RenaxTM91 When I was stationed in Englad, it was almost that bad. Since I worked in a building with no windows on rotating shifts, there would be days I wouldn't see the sun or night depending on the season. I hated it.
@@TheWabbitSeason it gets quite bad in the winter, its dark when driving to work and dark again when driving home. But I have no issues sitting on the porch having a beer while the sun goes down at 11pm, in fact its quite nice...

@Alex Merezas your point, not complain it's one of the first i've heard from stone sour, but with time i've found more strings with somes others that i feel better in my opinion. ( sorry if my english is not so good at all)
@@300routasydan2 I chose Through Glass because of its theme of being in the middle of "from nothing" to "being famous." It would shed some light into how far Leo has come and how he would go about putting together a video for it. Will he do something similar to the effect of the orginal music video? I don't know, but it would be amazing to see what his take would be if he did do like a collab of his days of starting out with his covers to what he's doing now. Maybe add in some sort of subtle nod to his fan base and how that's changed him.

I think this is the first metal cover of House of the Rising Sun that I have ever enjoyed, and I almost love this more than The Animals' version.
